On 27 March 2020, Governor Cooper issued Executive Order No. 121 “Stay at Home Order and Strategic Directions for North Carolina in Response to Increasing COVID-19 Cases” (See EO121-Stay-at-Home-Order [1]).
- This Order takes effect on Monday, 30 March 2020, at 5:00pm and shall remain in place for 30 days unless otherwise repealed, replaced, or rescinded.
- You are required to stay at home or your place of residence except for permitted travel and essential activates.
- Permitted travel includes travel to facilitate custodial exchanges.
- You are permitted to leave home for the following:
- For health and safety
- For necessary supplies and services
- For outdoor activity
- For certain types of work
- To take care of others
- To travel to and from a place of worship
- To receive goods and services
- To return to or travel between one’s place or places of residence for purposes including, but not limited to, child custody or visitation arrangements
- Volunteering
- A violation of this Executive Order may be subject to prosecution for a Class 2 misdemeanor.
